Rant: KM publishing IT

Information technology projects do not knowledge management make.

I've subscribed to KMWorld for a long time, primarily because I have an abiding interest in the topic (and I don't want to spend hundreds a year on the more academic journals).  There are often interesting pieces on where KM is going and where knowledge works within organizations.  And there is always an entertaining editorial by David Weinberger.

Unfortunately, the you-get-what-you-pay-for lesson applies.  Most of the filler in KMWorld is technology-as-KM.  I get into the middle of the magazine, only to find items on how Company Y is implementing Software Z or a special section on Technology X (with little to no reference to how that might fit with a knowledge strategy).
