In an email to a wide audience, KMPro announced that they've designated October as international "Knowledge Management Month" with more information to be available at the KMMonth.org website as of October 1st. The full announcement is posted at KMPro.
[KM Month is] a month for ... KM'ers worldwide to participate in activities intended to increase awareness and focus upon knowledge management. Recognizing that Peter Drucker had identified improving the effectiveness of knowledge workers as the "most important management challenge of the 21st century" knowledge management has become critical to organizations world-wide. Yet despite that fact, it seems that many organizations remain unclear of the value of KM or how to implement it.
Update: oops. This was supposed to be published on Sunday to correspond with the initiation of KM Month. c'est la vie.
